Friday, March 15, 2024 Who Do You Say That I Am? Scriptures: Matthew 16:15-17 (CSB) – “‘But you’, he asked them, ‘who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus responded, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.’” Message: A few weeks ago, approaching a Publix register, I saw something unexpected, magazines with the headline: “JESUS, Who do you say that I am?” I gasped, the gentleman behind handed me the LIFE magazine, but I politely declined. Nonetheless, I couldn’t forget the headline. Many times, we self-proclaim to be followers of Christ but don’t behave like we understand our beliefs. We live our lives often forgetting who Jesus is, letting our actions deny His Godliness and existence. Well, it’s time to snap out of it! In Matthew 16:15 Jesus was not guided by ego, or vainglory. His thought-provoking inquiry was to make the disciples ponder about the status of their faith and discipleship. The Gospels show they witnessed miraculous healings, provisions and forgiveness, so, surely, they knew who He was. But Jesus understood that they needed a push to claim and accept the truth that Jesus was God, the awaited Messiah. Throughout the Bible, we find God intentionally delivering His messages gradually. He reveals what’s needed as we progress in faith, gently nudging and guiding us towards the realization that there’s always more to learn about Him. Hebrews 6:1a (CSB) – “Therefore, let us leave the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity,” Despite my travails, I am certain that He is the Son of God, my Lord and Savior. His Holy Spirit lives in me, His resurrection is my hope and one day I will see Him face to face. Declaring this, helps me stay open to new teachings and revelations and to keep on growing my faith and persevering in my Christian walk. How about you? When we express this conviction freely and wholeheartedly, then whatever our situation, our faith won’t be shaken. Romans 8:28 (CSB) – “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” Prayer: God, give us willing hearts to accept the love and power given to us through Your Son, Jesus. Allow us to keep learning, growing our faith and claiming You as our Redeemer. Amen. Michelle Rosario - 2 of 2 Viernes, Marzo 15, 2024 ¿Quién dices que Yo Soy? Versículo: Mateo 16:15-17 (RVC) – “Él les preguntó: Y ustedes, ¿quién dicen que soy yo? Simón Pedro respondió: ¡Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente! Entonces Jesús le dijo: Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque no te lo reveló ningún mortal, sino mi Padre que está en los cielos.” Mensaje: Hace unas semanas, en la línea del supermercado vi algo inesperado, unas revistas con el titular: “JESÚS, ¿Quién dices que Yo Soy?” El asombro fue tanto que el caballero de atrás me dio la revista LIFE, pero cortésmente la rechace. Sin embargo, no pude olvidar el titular. Muchas veces, declaramos ser seguidores de Cristo, pero no nos comportamos como tal. Vivimos nuestras vidas olvidando quién es Jesús, dejando que nuestras acciones nieguen Su divinidad y existencia. Bueno ¡es hora de despertar! En Mateo 16:15 Jesús no fue guiado por ego o vanagloria, su pregunta fue para estimular a que los discípulos evaluaran el estado de su fe y su discipulado. Los Evangelios muestran que ellos presenciaron milagros de sanidad, provisión y perdón de pecados, y seguramente sabían quién era Jesús. Pero Él entendió que necesitaban un empujón para reclamar y aceptar la verdad de que Jesús era Dios, el Mesías esperado. En la Biblia, vemos como Dios intencionalmente nos transmite sus mensajes gradualmente. Él revela lo que necesitamos a medida que progresamos en la fe, incitándonos y dirigiéndonos sutilmente a comprender que siempre hay más que aprender sobre Él. Hebreos 6:1 (NVI) – “Por eso, dejando a un lado las enseñanzas elementales acerca de Cristo, avancemos hacia la madurez.” Aun en mis dificultades, sé que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, mi Señor y Salvador, cuyo Espíritu Santo vive en mí, su resurrección es mi esperanza y un día le veré cara a cara. Declarar esto me ayuda a mantenerme receptiva a nuevas enseñanzas y revelaciones, a crecer en la fe y perseverar en mi caminar cristiano. ¿Y tú? Cuando expresamos esta convicción libre y sinceramente, no importando nuestra situación, nuestra fe no caerá. Romanos 8:28 (RVA-2015) – “Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas ayuden para bien a los que lo aman; esto es, a los que son llamados conforme a su propósito.” Oración: Dios, danos corazones dispuestos a aceptar el amor y el poder que se nos ha dado a través Jesucristo.
