Whenever the Zoom is, I’ll try to join, although I have just begun using it
for my BSF class. SoIi may have trouble connecting. We have just
connected with Starlink & finally have the power needed. A huge praise.
You probably remember we are in the boonies of NE Texas. Gorgeous woods
property on a peninsula into a lake. and I hope to go in the water today.
I’ll send a couple of photos later. Pray you are doing well. Pat -
October 2022
From
Patty Acosta’s letter to me December,
2021:
For my 91st birthday
I was treated to a delightful day spent at the Tyler Zoo. I enjoyed being
pushed in a transport chair as the walking would have been a bit much for
me.
You
can tell the pandemic has not slowed me down. In spite of world problems,
compromised politicians, racial & religious -differences, injustices, I have
found the peace that passes all understanding in my belief and trust in God
and his one and only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is He whose birthday we
celebrate soon. I pray for you, that you also have had a blessed year, and
that you know Him as your Savior. As the saying goes, JESUS IS THE REASON
FOR THE SEASON.
Sending much love with wishes for a Merry Christmas, Pat - December 2021
Patty
in 2020 from FaceBook:
Patty Acosta’s letter to me: “I am settled in East Texas (Avinger) now
and love it!” Note: This was written before the cold
weather hit the state. “In spite of the virus I am able to stay
connected to my 16 great grandchildren and their parents.” Note:
Patty, do you remember that day you, Bunky Wilder,
Carver Kennedy, Georgie Bowers and I were walking to Markham
Grade School and I asked you if had any plans for the future? I distinctly
remember you saying, dreamily, “I can’t wait until I get to be a
great-grandmother! I want at least 16 of them!” - March 2021
Patty wrote from Avinger, Texas: This is my new address and email. I
am now living in the great state of Texas with my daughter and son-in-law,
Jack and Dona Eggar. They invited me join them in their home
situated on a beautiful lake in a place called Eagle Landing. The home is
situated on a peninsula so I can look out to water on 3 sides. Isn't God
good! I am in good health tho I have macular degeneration so am not driving
now. I have 10 grands, 8 of them presently married and just added another
great grand, bringing that total to 15. October 2019
Recent pictures of Patty and her
daughter and a Grandson:
- November 2017
Received a nice Christmas card from Patty. She is doing well as
are her kids, grandkids, great grandkids. She is back in residence in
Lakeland and sends all her best wishes. - January 2017
Patty writes: 2015 started as many other years, anticipating all the
activities that the New Year would bring. First on the list was attending a
magnificent Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera. Next I enjoyed a
Caribbean cruise. In May I was in a car accident with 11 fractures!
My
first thought was that the Lord preserved my life and I was going to be all
right.
I
didn't realize recovery was going to be so long! Thanks to good medical
care and the 24/7 help of-family, I was able to use a walker and fly to
Chicago by mid June.
Smooth sailing until August when I learned that I still had an unhealed C1
spine fracture. Recommendation? Continue wearing my neck collar for 6 more
months!
By
December I thought I would be rid of that confining brace. "No", said the
neurosurgeon, "Three more months!”
My
wings are clipped, but not my spirit! The study of Revelation at BSF kept
me going during the Winter months. I look forward to being able to drive
again and to return to Florida.
In
2015 I deepened my trust in God and have leaned more on my Lord Jesus
Christ. God's truths have sustained me. I am truly blessed! - February
2016
A
few recent highlights: Keeping up with family. For the last 2
years I have written a "Bucket List" of ideas for the summer. I love
to explore and take advantage of museums, nature preserves and quaint, local
shops. Learning my new smart phone and trying to keep it from
outsmarting me. ( I do love the text feature and the Bible app.)
Canoeing with David at Rainbow Springs,
then enjoying a meal of frogs' legs at a restaurant on the river.
Finding and trying out new recipes then tweaking them, like making green
tomato salsa. Enjoying Justin & Katlyn's precious baby
Karys and watching her grow & start communicating.
Commemorating my 84th birthday at Lincoln Park
Zoo & Conservatory in Chicago with Dona, Jess, Daniel &
Jackson O'Neal. Congregating with family at Luau, our local
hang-out for coffee dates. Taking a side trip to Branson, MO with
Dona to see the spectacular show, JONAH. Finding Thai and/or
Vietnamese restaurants & enjoying a meal. December 2014
(Picture is Dave, Dona and me)
Dear Bill, I just
arrived in FL today. It's been a most busy summer. More later. In
Christ, Pat – October 2012
Patty writes:
Dear Bill, before I forget, here is my update. It has been 1 1/2
years since I moved to Lake James with my son David and his wife
Susan. (She is wheel-chair bound.) And I am still here, so I guess
that the transition has been successful. We do things together but also
separately, a nice flexible arrangement.
I continue to spend
summers and some holidays in St. Charles, IL with daughter Dona and
family. I didn't go on any extensive travels this year, but managed to
attend the college graduation of a grandson and the wedding of another
grandson and took lots of little excursions to visit friends. Daughter
Diane was home for the summer from her teaching job in Indonesia (hubby
Scott, too). I count my family tops in my many blessings and will
spend Thanksgiving with one family and 3 great grand children of my 7 at
present. I am grateful that I can still travel to see all of them.
I attend a gym for
physical fitness and a Bible study for spiritual healing. I trust the Lord
for mental alertness and would love to attend our next reunion if at all
possible. Bill you have performed a miracle in keeping track of so
many of us. Thank-you! I would love to get together since we live so
close. What a wonderful trip you took this summer. I must admit that my
idea of camping is in not being able to find a Hampton Inn while on the
road. I do love the out-of-doors and my birding days. Hello to all who
read this. - November 2011
Bill, my latest news is that I have moved: 8106 Lake James
Blvd. Lakeland, FL 33810. I'll write an update for the website a bit
later, but just know that I am alive and well and praising the Lord. Thanks
for all you do. Pat – October 2010
Kay
and I stopped in to see Patty in Lakeland, Florida, yesterday.
As you can see from the picture she has escaped the wrath of age far better
than I have. We had a nostalgic talk about "The Good Ol' Days" as we
reminisced on how we would walk to Markham Elementary every morning along
with
Pat Campbell,
Jane Texter,
Charles Enlind, Bunky Wilder
(Now
deceased), Georgie Bowers and Carver Kennedy - The last three
moved away before we graduated to Mt Lebanon Junior High..
I hadn't realized that
Jane
was Patty's sister-in-law
although I had noticed the identical married names - Shows you how observant
I am. Patty gave me a little information on
Jane that I posted on her page.
Patty has some of her family close by and is planning extensive trips
this Summer to see the rest of them - we were pleased to meet her son
David who lives nearby.
I told Patty that we probably
talked more on Monday that we did all through High School. It was a
pleasant time being with her. Kay and I hope to do again, soon.

Bill Erdman - May 2009
Hello
all '48 class, I am bummed that I will not be at the 60th reunion.
However, my life is about as full as I can manage. I've been able to travel
quite a bit, the most recent out of the USA being to China, a trip that I
loved. The most recent in the USA was to a lake in East Texas. Although
while there I wondered if they think that they are in their own country.
They certainly have their own language. I am a resident of Florida but I
spend summers in St. Charles, Illinois in an apartment in daughter Dona's
home. Right now we are helping her daughter rehab a recently purchased
home in Geneva. My 3 "kids" and their families now number 10 grandchildren,
3 spouses of the same and 6 great grandchildren. I'll be with 4 of those
cuties this weekend as you celebrate in Mt Lebanon. I wish I could be in 2
places at once. Have a great time together. I'll be playing with the
greats or unpacking and organizing a kitchen. I am blessed! – Pat –
August 2008
April 2007: Dear
Bill, Sometimes I have to pinch myself to
make sure that I am real and that I am really enjoying old age as much as I
am. Since Christmas, I have been privileged to go on bird trips each
Thursday with an Audubon group from Winter Haven / Lakeland area. These
have taken me from coast to coast here in central Florida with a group of
most interesting people. One highlight has been seeing whooping cranes;
another has been painted buntings; yet another is sightings of redheaded
woodpeckers. I could go on and mention a roseate spoonbill and black
crowned night herons right on Lake Parker, but my list could go on and on.
You get the picture; I am enjoying the pursuit and the people who also get
up at ridiculous early hours in order to find winged creatures.
As of
today, I have been home for one week from a luxurious cruise aboard the
Westerdam, a Holland America vessel. My son David and his wife,
Susan signed up for a Caribbean trip with a bit of apprehension since
Susan is confined to a motorized chair due to MS. It is a definite
praise to the Lord that all went well on the cruise. We had a handicap room
which worked well for us. The ship personnel couldn't have been more
accommodating and Susan was able to go on shore at 3 out of 4 of the
stops.
I took nature shore trips, 2 of them in glass bottom or semi
sub type boats in order to see the sea floor. We are already researching
and talking about our next cruise!
My plans for
summer will start on May 22 with a drive to Niles, MI in time for a
grandson's HS graduation. After a visit there, I'll find a way over to St.
Charles, IL in time for a Texas getaway with daughter Dona.
After returning I hopefully will finally get to stay home and just relax. I am
supposed to be retired, you know. Which
all reminds me that it is past time for me to retire. Consider this note
DONE. Have a Blessed Easter! Fondly, Pat
June

It
was
a

time
and
Josh
took

his

Of

that
was
nothing

to
the

In
Christ,
Pat
August,
2003
Update: It
is
less
than
one
week
until
the
Class
of
'48
reunion
and
I
will
not
be
able
to
attend.
So
here
is
a
rundown
of
significant
events
since
the
last
reunion.
My
dear
husband
Jack
had
a
heart
attack
and
went
to
be
with
his
Savior
and
Lord
on
Dec.
15,
1998.
I
remained
in
our
home
in
Gambrills,
Maryland
until
Sept.
of
2002.
At
that
time
I
made
a
double
move;
The
winter
half
of
me
lives
in
a
condo
in
Lakeland,
Florida,
a
couple
of
doors
from
son
David
and
his
wife
Susan.
We
see
one
another
frequently
and
enjoy
the
warmth
of
Florida.
I'm
getting
settled
in
a
wonderful
church
and
am
loving
the
birds
that
frequent
Lake
Parker
right
in
front
of
the
condos.
In
January,
David
and
I
traveled
to
Maura
Teweh,
Borneo,
Indonesia,
to
visit
daughter
Diane
and
her
family.
She
and
her
husband
Scott
were
just
finishing
their
term
as
missionaries
there.
The
4
boys
were
home
from
boarding
school
and
we
played
with
them
and
adsorbed
the
totally
different
culture
for
a
month
before
touring
some
cities
in
the
island
of
Java.
I
had
only
been
home
a
couple
of
weeks
when
I
stepped
in
a
sink
hole
in
the
grass
as
I
was
returning
from
a
bird
walk
so
I
spent
the
next
6
weeks
healing
from
a
broken
wrist.
When
the
cast
was
taken
off
I
did
lots
of
my
own
therapy
and
am
still
working
to
regain
strength.
However,
I
am
so
very
grateful
to
God
that
it
has
healed
so
well.
Then
there
were
about
2
weeks
before
it
was
time
to
drive
north
with
my
granddaughter,
Jess,
in
order
to
spend
the
summer
in
St.
Charles,
Illinois,
where
daughter
Dona
and
family
live
in
a
home
with
a
special
first
floor
wing
for
me.
b
was
married
to
b
on
June
13th.
My
side
of
the
family
stayed
for
a
mini
family
reunion
afterwards.
That
time
was
a
blur
of
activity.
Then
we
had
about
2
days
to
prepare
for
traveling
to
an
Eggar
wedding
in
Texas,
picking
up
my
granddaughter-in-law
on
the
way.
She
and
grandson
Josh
live
in
Ogden,
Kansas.
First
Lt.
Josh
is
presently
in
Baghdad
helping
in
the
restoration
process.
AND
they
are
expecting
their
first
baby
which
will
be
my
second
great
grandchild.
Once
home
here
in
St.
Charles,
we
readied
for
a
trip
to
the
Montreal
River
in
Canada
where
an
AWANA
camp
is
built
out
in
the
wilderness.
Now
I
am
back
in
one
piece
and
in
one
place
until
early
September
when
I
plan
to
drive
back
to
Florida.
So
the
first
year
of
this
phase
of
my
life
is
almost
over.
It
is
exciting
to
live
close
to
family
and
be
a
part
of
their
lives
and
hopefully
I
can
be
a
help
to
them.
They
certainly
are
a
blessing
from
the
Lord
to
me.
I
am
grateful
to
be
able
to
enjoy
an
exciting
and
active
life,
but
sorry
that
I
can't
join
you
for
the
55th
reunion.
Pat
October 2002: I
wanted
to
let
people
know
I've
relocated
to
a
condo
in
Lakeland,
Florida
near
some
of
my
family.
My
house
in
Maryland
where
I
have
lived
for
the
last
16
years
sold
in
one
day
and
the
closing
date
was
set
for
a
late
summer
move
to
Florida
and
Illinois.
In
May,
I
finished
Bible
Study
Fellowship,
a
weekly
study
that
has
been
an
important
part
of
my
life
since
'81,
giving
me
time
to
embark
on
some
interesting
trips.
I
had
a
delightful,
educational
and
fun
get
away
on
an
Elder
Hostel
to
Chincoteague,
Virginia.
Then
it
was
out
to
Bartlett,
Illinois
for
the
graduation
of
granddaughter
Bekah.
She
was
5th
in
her
H.S.
class
making
us
all
proud
of
her.
She
is
now
attending
The
Master's
College
in
California.
On
another
memorable
trip
I
joined
other
friends
for
our
Monmouth
College,
Illinois,
50th
reunion.
The
events
were
well
planned
and
we
returned
with
many
memories
and
renewed
freshman
friendships.
Pat.
June
2001:
I
plan
to
attend
my
grandson's
graduation
from
USMMA
in
NY.
Josh
is
the
first
of
my
10
grandchildren
to
graduate
from
college.
Have
a
great
day
in
the
Lord. In
Christ,
Pat
April,
2001: I
went
on
a
Greek
Island
cruise
which
was
to
include
Israel
but
the
Captain
and
Company
made
the
decision
not
to
unload
a
shipfull
of
people
in
Israel.
The
trip
was
worthwhile
without
it
as
we
saw
Athens,
Egypt,
Turkey
(Istanbul
and
old
Ephesus)
and
many
other
Biblical
sites
along
the
way.
I
am
just
about
to
sign
up
for
a
trip
for
2
weeks
that
will
be
nothing
but
Israel
and
think
that
this
will
be
better
as
we
will
see
it
in
more
depth.
The
trip
is
in
November
and
is
co-sponsored
by
AWANA,
so
my
daughter
and
son-in-law
will
be
going
which
makes
it
nice
for
a
single
tagalong.
Also
in
December
I
took
a
trip
to
Florida
with
a
friend.
We
zigzagged
back
and
forth
doing
some
visiting
and
sight-seeing
on
the
way.
I
have
a
1st
great-granddaughter
as
of
November
18th,
so
got
to
see
her.
Last
fall
I
was
asked
to
go
back
into
leadership
with
BSF
and
if
you
know
anything
about
the
group,
it
is
a
time
commitment
that
disciplines
the
rest
of
your
life.
So
since
Christmas
I
have
actually
stayed
home.
It
looks
as
if
my
summer
is
pretty
well
planned.
My
grandson
Josh
graduates
from
the
USMMA
in
June
and
gets
married
in
July.
I
am
signed
up
for
Sandy
Cove
Bible
Conference
in
August.
My
"kids"
in
Indonesia
are
doing
great.
Scott
is
trying
to
get
a
new
school
building
underway.
Anyway,
I
am
still
here
and
trying
to
live
for
the
Lord. In
Him,
Pat
August,
2000: Since
the
home going
of
my
husband,
Jack,
I
have
led
a
whirlwind
of
a
life,
thanks
to
wonderful
family
and
friends.
Because
my
daughter
Diane
was
home
from
Indonesia
for
13
months,
June
1,
99
to
June
30,
00,
I
took
every
opportunity
to
spend
time
with
her
and
her
family
of
4
lively
boys.
In
fact,
I
have
done
lots
of
traveling
to
be
with
my
3
families
and
am
so
grateful
that
they
actually
want
me
to
visit.
Sometimes
there
was
a
bit
of
an
ulterior
motive
(maybe
on
both
parts)
and
I
stayed
with
grandkids,
giving
the
parents
a
chance
to
be
away
together.
We
had
2
family
reunions,
both
highly
successful.
The
first
was
at
Sandy
Cove,
MD,
a
Bible
Conference
Lodge
where
Jack
regularly
gave
financial
seminars.
The
second
was
at
Carter
Caves,
KY,
where
we
had
camped
some
35
years
ago.
I
surprised
myself
by
going
all
the
way
through
the
unlit
and
very
slippery
and
rocky
"Bat
Cave"
and
was
grateful
that
I
could
still
do
it.
Then
there
have
been
some
trips.
I
went
to
Mexico
in
February
on
an
AWANA
trip,
and
to
New
England
in
June
with
a
group
of
seniors.
Right
now
I
am
anticipating
a
visit
from
daughter
Dona
and
her
2
teen
girls.
We
will
then
drive
to
NC
to
son
David's
for
the
wedding
of
yet
another
granddaughter.
Then
it
will
be
out
to
Bartlett,
IL
with
Dona's
family.
I
am
planning
to
get
together
with
some
college
friends
out
there,
one
of
whom
I
haven't
seen
since
I
left
school.
Future
plans
include
a
Holy
Land
cruise
in
October.
(Anybody
want
to
join
me?)
In
between
all
this
jaunting,
I
try
to
keep
the
bills
paid
and
keep
up
with
friends
here.
However,
this
past
week
I
did
my
civic
duty
and
served
as
foreman
of
a
jury
in
a
civil
case
which
lasted
6
days.
It
was
a
difficult
case
and
I
feel
better
informed
in
an
entirely
new
way.
Today
I
am
awaiting
the
arrival
of
some
of
the
NC
family.
They
are
starting
housekeeping
and
I
am
paring
down
for
the
eventual
day
that
I
move
from
this
house,
much
too
large
for
one
person,
but
I
enjoy
it
here
and
am
staying
for
now. In Christ, Pat
August,
1999,
note: I
had
a
very
full
summer.
First
a
17
yr.
old
granddaughter
came
to
spend
the
summer
and
work
in
the
area.
Then
we
had
a
fabulous
family
reunion
at
Sandy
Cove,
the
Bible
Conference
Center
where
Jack
gave
weekly
financial
seminars
for
the
past
7
summers.
Some
of
the
family
couldn't
bear
to
go
home,
so
they
came
here
early
and
stayed
another
week
afterwards.
And
a
third
family
came
at
the
end
of
August
for
a
Wash. D.C.
week
of
sightseeing
and
seeing
old
friends.
By
this
time
I
needed
a
break,
so
went
back
to
Sandy
Cove
with
a
friend

PAT ACOSTA'S BIOGRAPHY
After
graduating
from
Mt.L
H.S.,
I
attended
Monmouth
College
in
IL
for
one
and
a
half
semesters
before
transferring
to
Penn
State
where
I
met
Jack.
I
graduated
in
ED
two
years
after
he
graduated
in
C
&
F.
We
married
that
same
month
-
June
28,
1952
(46
years)
&
moved
to
Lancaster,
PA.
Jack
was
already
working
there.
I
taught
Kindergarten.
for
a
year
before
we
started
a
family
-
first
Dona,
(Mrs.
Jack Eggar
-
four
children):
then
David
(Susan,
two
children)
and
finally
Diane
(Mrs.
Scott Riggenbach
-
four
children).
Jack
was
transferred
about
and
changed
jobs,
too,
so
we
have
lived
in
eight
states
in
eleven
homes.
We
have
been
in
our
present
house
for
12
years,
the
longest
that
we
have
stayed
anywhere.
It
does
help
to
be
"retired".
Throughout
my
years
I
taught
briefly
in
the
IL
school
system,
but
mostly
did
volunteer
work.
After
becoming
a
Christian,
I
became
involved
in
Church
work
and
found
my
real
love
in
Bible
Studies.
Today
I
have
backed
off
in
order
to
be
free
to
take
care
of
my
Mom,
help
with
Jack's
ministries
and
visit
family.
We
do
attend
and
participate
in
a
great
local
church.
Recently
we
hosted
a
missionary
couple
from
Mexico.
We
love
being
involved
in
peoples'
lives
and
have
a
special
burden
for
missionaries
since
our
own
children
have
been
missionaries
in
foreign
lands.
We
have
visited
them
enough
to
know
what
it
is
like.
Our
daughter
Dona
&
husband
ministered
in
Fiji
for
about
20
years.
He
started
a
Baptist
work
there
and
has
turned
it
over
to
another
man.
He
is
now
the
International
Director
for
AWANA,
a
children's
program
for
church
use.
We
visited
them
in
Bartlett,
IL
right
after
our
summer
series
ended.
Our
son
David
lives
in
Burlington,
NC
where
he
is
in
his
own
business,
having
left
the
pastorate
last
year.
His
wife
has
MS
and
is
needing
more
and
more
help
so
he
works
out
of
his
home.
Daughter,
Diane,
is
a
CMA
missionary
in
the
interior
of
Borneo,
Indonesia.
She
teaches
at
a
small
seminary
while
her
husband
supervises
the
native
pastors
in
Central
and
South
Kalimantan.
Those
are
2
of
the
5
"states"
of
Borneo.
We
have
been
to
Indonesia
3
times,
but
the
last
visit
may
be
our
final
one
as
it
is
a
hard,
demanding
trip
and
the
heat
is
oppressive.
The
older
we
get,
the
more
we
mind
it.
They
are
due
back
in
the
states
in
June
for
a
one
year
furlough.
At
that
time
we
are
planning
a
family
reunion.
Jack
left
his
business
career
early
because
of
repeated
heart
troubles,
but
the
Lord
has
blessed
him
in
making
him
useful
to
many
with
his
Christian
Financial
Counseling
and
seminars.
For
that
I
am
most
grateful!

F William
Weber and Martha Rose (Allison) Weber are celebrated 65
years of marriage on June 16th, 2014.
They met
while attending the University of Pittsburgh, where the freshman Chi
Omega caught the eye of the Delta Tau Delta continuing his education
on the GI Bill. They were married in Heinz Memorial Chapel in the
presence of beloved family and friends.
After
multiple transfers while working for US Steel Corporation, they
chose Tulsa as their home to raise a family, and founded Southwest
Tube Manufacturing, later known as Webco Industries. Bill
continues daily as Chairman of the Board of the company Marty
and he built together almost 45 years ago.
The love
affair that began over 65 years ago, producing three daughters and
three granddaughters, continues to evolve and grow and nourish the
spirits of everyone in their midst. We honor, celebrate and thank
you for teaching us that hopes and dreams are realized in ways least
expected, and family is the most important bond there is.
From your
loving daughters, Kimberly (Frank), Dana and
Ashley; Bradley Frank; and your granddaughters,
Lauren, Lindsay and Rachel.
(From a Google
search November 2015)
February 22, 2005 (Editor's note: Received in June
- Marty typed her letter in some fancy script that was very difficult to
scan so I take no credit for misinterpretations.)
Dear Bill, I have been trying to get a letter written and a
picture sent for so long! Finally just ran off a roll of film with
somewhat dire results, but you can use "Whatever" and ignore "Whichever."
(See below)
We attended a huge, five-day India(n) wedding in Lake
Charles, ,CA., that was beautifully done and amazing. It started in
the am. and almost met itself late each night. The bride, groom and
families and guests must have real endurance. Knowing what goes into
"normal" planning, it was overwhelming.
We were
invited to the Inaugural and thought it would be a great experience.
(It was.) We hate being cold, and haven't had snow here since Feb. of
2004. But there we got to "enjoy" what we had been missing. It
was very interesting. We've made up for two warm winters and a cool
summer with many hail storms. Wow we have to replace our roof.
Bill was invited to the Masters at Augusta the Sunday
Tiger won the green jacket again. I wasn't invited, so went to the
Lake for a few days and saw it from there.
The last
two years have been pretty boring as I stirred up an old injury to my neck
and shoulder and spend two hours, every other day, in PT. It kind of
limits your 'fun" time. Also, it bothers me to fly. The
traveler!! Frustrating. As you can see, I do go from time to time, but
don't think I could handle overseas at present. Bummer.
One daughter is the traveler we used to be. She is in
China for 3 weeks right now. YPO meetings, plus business calls.
On an earlier trip, she fell down the rough steps in Machu Picchu and broke
her leg. She has such a high pain threshold that she didn't realize it
and went back up twice. They are having the first national touring of
all of their artifacts here in Tulsa right now and we plan to go.
Guess for now it is the only way I will get there.
You seem to be feeling wonderful, and that is great. Take care of
yourself. I still visit the MtL site frequently. Right now l am
going to print this and mail it, with said pix. if I don't it will
never get done. Marty

May
2003:
We
have
been
so
busy
I
missed
2002—and
I
have
one
recent
picture
which
is
hiding
from
me
right
now.
Anyway,
we
are
constantly
busy,
but
not
much
exciting
to
relate.
Having
all
of
our
children
and
grandchildren
in
Tulsa
is
great,
but
we
do
get
heavily
involved
in
their
problems
and
successes.
Also
the
business
commitment
dictates
our
schedule
and
long
hours.
Our
middle
daughter
has
taken
over
most
of
the
heavy
overseas
traveling,
as
she
enjoys
it
and
it
adds
to
her
learning
process
and
connections.
She
spent
a
week
in
Prague,
home
a
week,
then
was
to
fly
to
Japan,
China,
Hong
Kong,
and
on
around
to
Finland.
The
first
part
of
that
trip
was
cancelled
not
too
many
hours
before
she
was
to
leave.
So
she
is
now
in
Finland,
going
the
other
direction
directly
from
here.
Celebrated
our
53rd
Anniversary,
June
16,
2002,
and
are
roaring
up
on
the
54th.
We
have
been
amazingly
blessed
with
being
healthy
enough
to
remain
active
and
on
the
go.
We
do
some
of
the
business
traveling.
Actually
were
in
Florida
in
March—two
day
notice,
with
a
schedule
that
involved
heavy
meetings
and
evening
events,
and
moving
every
day.
The
trip
down
was
lengthy
because
of
weather
in
Atlanta,
but
we
did
make
our
connection
to
Ft.
Meyers
and
drove
up
the
coast
to
Venice
in
the
middle
of
the
night—luckily
having
our
lost
luggage
catch
up
with
us.
Very
coincidentally
we
ran
into
an
old
friend
from
Pitt
who
was
in
our
wedding
party
at
Heinz
Chapel.
They
have
lived
in
Venice
for
about
16
years.
Then
a
rush
back
to
Naples
for
meetings—two
days,
one
night
and
then
home.
My
best
friend
since
age
6
(who
was
my
Maid
of
Honor)
and
her
husband
live
in
Ohio,
but
spend
winters
in
Florida—in
Naples.
We
didn’t
even
get
a
chance
to
call
them.
I
had
no
opportunity
to
see
where
the
Floridian
‘48ers
live.
Another
person
grabbed
the
same
bag
on
our
return,
but
I
was
watchful
and
was
able
to
run
after
him
and
retrieve
it.
Next
time
that
bag
will
be
decorated
with
pink
feathers.
Appreciate
all
of
Bob's
hard
work
on
the
Reunion.
Wish
we
could
be
there.
I
will
be
watching
the

and
looking
forward
to
hearing
about
everyone.
Hope
all
is
well
with
you.

Thought
I
had
written
more
recently.
I
have
appreciated
the
flurry
of
recent
mail.
Enjoy
visiting
the
site
as
it
grows.
Time
flies
(profound,
yes?).
Until
two
years
ago
I
was
unable
to
say
the
"6"
word.
Now
in
a
few
months
it
will
be
the
"7"
word.
It's
not
vanity;
won't
come
out
of
my
mouth.
It's
nice
to
know
we
all
have
this
common
bond.
At
Bill's
50th
(and
first)
reunion
he
saw
a
group
of
"early
arrivers"
at
a
large
table
and
was
rushing
to
join
them.
He
was
greatly
shocked
when
I
said,
"Bill,
it
looks
like
those
people
are
celebrating
their
10th."
Our
youngest
daughter
was
married
February
26th.
She
insisted
Bill
and
I
walk
down
the
aisle
on
either
side
of
her
and
"give
her
away"
together.
It
felt
strange
but
was
a
very
loving
thing.
We
had
the
rehearsal
dinner
here
(40
people),
the
wedding
at
the
church
the
next
day,
followed
(I
thought)
by
a
fairly
large
reception
at
the
club.
Bill
and
I
were
so
exhausted
that
we
went
to
the
lake
for
over
two
weeks
to
refresh.
We
"visit"
our
lake
place
infrequently
because
of
time,
and
knew
that
going
in.
But
I
didn't
figure
on
how
strongly
it
would
keep
calling
me.
It
wants
to
keep
me
there.
Last
year
was
our
special
anniversary
(50th)
year
and
we
made
it
very
special.
Amazingly,
our
51st
Anniversary
flew
by
in
June.
I
am
hoping
for
another
lake
trip
in
November
and
it's
marked
out
on
Bill's
calendar
everywhere.
If
anyone
wants
to
do
good
works,
they
can
send
him
an
e-mail
(to
me--I'm
not
sure
he'd
admit
it
if
it
went
direct)
suggesting
the
wonders
of
retirement
(no
negatives,
please).
He
could
start
with
8
hour
days,
maybe
4
days
a
week
and
no
weekends
and
follow
a
continuing
withdrawal
program.
Any
help
would
be
appreciated.
Julian
had
a
very
educating
letter.
I
thought
an
ultra light
was
something

a
mess

all
of
the
pictures
I
have
taken
over
the
years.
Right
now
I
can't

a
recent

Think
it
is
so
neat.
This
is
our
50th
Anniversary
year.
Husband,
Bill,
did
a
neat
thing
-
he
sent
me
10
red
roses
and
a
lovely
4-page
letter
covering
our
1st
10
years.
And
now
I
get
10
more
red
roses
until
it
totals
50--and
also
4
more
letters
for
each
of
the
last
10
years.
With
Bill's
long
hours
and
years
of
working,
I
thought
4
two-week
vacations
would
be
wonderful
this
year:
-
First, trip to Hawaii in February. Fabulous.
-
Second to the lake in late May, but
Bill couldn't get away, so I went alone--with my Westie. That was refreshing.
-
June 16th our girls had a wonderful and unusual Anniversary celebration. Complete surprise, very special and unusual.
-
June 26 we left for an Alaskan Cruise, so wonderfully cool--and no rain. Had a ball. Great accommodations, food, food, food, something to do every minute, and we did it all except sleep. Danced into the wee hours.
-
Then home for catch-up.

So
he's

but
we

Reunion
From
Bob Woeber (deceased)), May 2009: I just returned to Pittsburgh yesterday. I
see that I received a returned letter that was sent to Jack Barry
last May 15th. How about that for our illustrious U S Post Office?
Anyway, I called the phone number in the roster and Jack called me
back. Obviously he never heard about the reunion. He gave me his current
address :1101 Sycamore Avenue, Apt. 307, Tustin, CA 92780. I have changed
the address in the roster. The phone number is still OK and he does not
have an E-Mail address. |

Dear Bill: Just a
word to let you know I am "still out there" and still living in Lititz, PA
with my husband of 58 years Dr. David Birch. We still live in a
lovely cottage in a very attractive retirement community called Moravian
Manor. Our 2 kids are each 5 hours away from Lititz east and west. We all
get together often. Hope all is well with other members of the class of
48. Janet Baugh Birch – November 2011
Nothing new to report.
Our grandson is the Band Director at Plum Township High School. He won the
Gene Kelly award last Spring. We continue to enjoy our cottage and
activities at Moravian Manor Retirement Community. We are both in good
health and get around very well. I arrange tours for folks here at the
Manor, mostly one day events. But we have fun going here and there.
Tomorrow we go to see the new Visitor's Center at Gettysburg. Not much else
to report. Hope you are all having fun. Janet Baugh Birch and
David – October 2010
Dear Classmates: Just a word
to let you know that I will not be able to attend the 1948 class reunion on
August 27. Our grandson is getting married around that date so you know
where we will be. Hope you have a grand time and give my regards to all my
friends in the class of '48. David and I live in a very cozy cottage
in a wonderful retirement community in Lititz, PA. Janet Baugh Birch

November 2011 -
Hi
Bill,
the email is same. Thanks for all your efforts! I am in
Naples ,FL, and will try to “cook” some thing up when I get
back to cleve, that is beside the turkey! Happy Holidays to
you and family. Betty Lou Bowen
Friends, I am so sorry to have to send my
regrets for the Reunion! No place I would rather be that
week-end. The older I get, the more I realize how lucky I
am to be part of the Mt Lebanon Class of 1948. I will be
there in spirit. Have a great time.
Thanks to all that worked so hard to make it
a success!
John
and I have just celebrated our 54th. Yes, under one roof.
We have 2 sons and one granddaughter. This is the 6th
summer we have gone to our home in Naples, Fla, with Bill
and his daughter. Bill being of the new "breed"--
divorced. – Betty Lou Bowen Malm - August 2008
January 2007: HAPPY
HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE! You are great to do all the
work for "The Elite '48 Group"! Thank you for all your time on this.
I was
shocked and saddened to read of the death of
Sally Fellows O'Conner
(deceased)). Our
friendship goes back to grade school when we played together. Not living in M.L. any more, I was not good keeping in touch. At the reunions, it was
such fun to see her and she never changed her smile. I think every day is a
blessing.
We
live in Cleveland and spend some time in the winter in Naples, Fla. That is
when John can drag me away from my granddaughter and 2 sons.
Have
fun and thanks for all your fine work!
Betty Lou Bowen Malm
December, 2003: I wish you all a Merry Christmas
and a New Year of good health, much happiness, love and peace.
We are enjoying Cleveland in the Winter. Wind, snow
and cold! Life is fun with our two sons and wonderful granddaughter.
Naples, Fla. will be "calling" soon. Enjoy, Betty Lou

and a night on the town. We told everyone that would listen who we were and
that we had graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1948. We hope "they"

LOUISE BRADLEY (Thiele)
Somewhere, FL
Hi
Bill,
so nice to receive your Email and tickled at the thought of seeing /
hearing the class of '48. A few months ago at the insistence of my
children, I finally left my MD home and moved to a retirement place in
Florida. I went from being the very oldest of all up North to among the
youngest at my new setup. Over time of course I gradually began to
learn more surnames, odds and ends, more information about my new
friends. The best and for very first time ever, it turns out one of my
tablemates is a 1945 graduate of Mt Lebanon High School.
Certainly the most unique
portion of my life was the 3 years I spent in the Peace Corps in the
Russian Far East in the early '90's. Now it's so devastating to realize
that my friends and companions are the people savaging Ukraine...
My best guess is that hurricane,
Ian, is responsible for my current Email problems. My email from you
and others is arriving late and erratically, so I will attend whatever
date and time you decide is best! Louise B - October 2022

June, 2003: Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. Between spam and a big backlog of unread "humor" I seem to postpone dealing with any email that isn't urgent. Awhile back (when?) I looked through the data you've collected and really enjoyed it. It also made me think that I have lived a very odd life.
For example 5 years ago I settled in Rockville, MD, after spending 3 years in the Peace Corps in Vladivostok, Russia. Next week I'm escorting a group of exchange students home to the Ukraine. Actually my current friends live similar lives and my children think it's normal too. Regards,

50th Reunion
September
22, 2014 - From Google Search:
In honor of its 50th anniversary, ASCO is highlighting the
accomplishments of some of the many people who have advanced cancer care to
where it is today in the "Oncology Luminaries" series. ASCO recognizes
Charles A. Coltman, Jr., MD, FASCO, as one of these luminaries for his
career-long commitment to clinical cancer research, including the expansion
of clinical trials and oversight of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG),
which has benefited countless patients.
Dr. Coltman earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine. After completing his internship, he entered the U.S. Air Force,
where he would eventually serve as chief of hematology and oncology at
Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio.
Upon retiring from military, Dr. Coltman became director of clinical medical
oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio,
where he has served as a professor since 1970.
Dr. Coltman first became involved with the Southwest Oncology Group—or The
Southwest Cancer Chemotherapy Study Group, as it was called at the time—in
1967 when his team was the first to test cytosine arabinoside for acute
myelogenous leukemia. However, Dr. Coltman’s involvement with SWOG truly
began in 1981 when he became the group chair, a position he held for 24
years until 2005.
As group chair of SWOG, Dr. Coltman worked to influence more than 256
participating institutions in 41 states and Canada. During his tenure, the
cooperative group underwent significant change and growth. Dr. Coltman
played an integral part in the inclusion of community cancer hospitals and
physicians into the clinical trial process. In the early 1980s, the majority
of cancer research was conducted at large university teaching hospitals.
However, in 1983, SWOG began participating in the Community Clinical
Oncology Program, which allowed greater participation in cancer research by
community-based physicians.
As a result of this and other changes, Dr. Coltman worked to grow the scope
of SWOG and increase its ability to do research that focused on cancer
control and prevention.
In 1993, SWOG launched the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial, the first
large-scale trial focused on the prevention of prostate cancer. PCPT was
closed early in 2003 after showing that the investigational drug,
finasteride, reduced the incidence of prostate cancer by approximately 25%
among the men who received the drug.
In 2001, Dr. Coltman was awarded ASCO's David A. Karnofsky Memorial Award
and Lecture. He focused his lecture on measuring the influence of therapies
and prevention strategies studied in clinical trials on population
mortality.
That same year, SWOG launched the Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention
Trial (SELECT). However, this trial did not have the same type of positive
results as PCPT. In 2008, the trial was stopped when interim findings showed
no preventive benefit for any of the treatment arms.
In 2008, SWOG developed the Coltman Fellowships in Dr. Coltman’s honor.
These sponsorships award young SWOG investigators $100,000 in salary support
during 2 years of their independent research.
Dr. Coltman has worked actively with ASCO throughout his career, including
serving as its president from 1988-1989 and working as a driving force
behind the development of the ASCO/AACR Joint Workshop, at which 100 young
professionals each year learn how to create and conduct cancer clinical
trials. In addition to his work with ASCO, Dr. Coltman has been active in
developing and providing educational opportunities for physicians. In 1978,
he organized and co-directed the first San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium,
a role which he retained until 2010. Dr. Coltman is still co-director
ex-officio for the symposium

Margaret Crissman Funkhouser ’52, Public-education Activist
Margaret Crissman Funkhouser, a public education activist, graduated
from Wellesley College in 1952 with a degree in international relations.
After graduation, she moved to Princeton, New Jersey to work for the Gallup
Poll. There, she met her husband, Robert, and moved to Pittsburgh.
In
Pittsburgh, Funkhouser became involved in volunteer work and discovered her
strengths and passions. She worked with the Junior League of Pittsburgh, an
organization committed to promoting volunteerism among women, and eventually
served as the organization’s president. She also served as the vice
president of the Pittsburgh Information and Volunteer Services. Through
these positions, Funkhouser developed her talents in organizing, uniting
people, and raising financial support for an effective cause.
Funkhouser moved to Los Angeles in 1970, where she worked with the Los
Angeles Wellesley Club on a benefit event and introduced the club’s
internship program. From 1971 until 1976, she was a trustee of the Southern
California Coro Foundation, a non-profit graduate training institution for
government and public affairs. She was elected to be the secretary to the
National Board of Trustees of the Coro Foundation in 1977.
Funkhouser also cofounded Performing Tree, a program designed to promote the
role of art in education. She has served on the boards of directors of
numerous organizations and charities in the Pittsburgh and Los Angeles area.
In
1984, she founded and presided over the Los Angeles Education Partnership (LAEP),
which is now the Urban Education Partnership. The mission of LAEP is to
reform the public education system in Los Angeles by engaging the assistance
of the private sector.
Margaret Funkhouser retired from LAEP in 2001, but the organization has
continued to serve more than 2,500 educators and 75,000 children in
high-poverty, multicultural communities across Los Angeles County.
Bill: I just
perused the latest MtL news from you, and ended up scrolling through most of
the website. I noticed
Sally Woodruff listed in the list of deceased with date unknown. I
don’t know the date, but I know where you can find it. When we buried
my father in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, there was
Sally Woodruff’s
marker right beside his. I cannot remember her married name, but she lived
directly across the street from us on Gypsy Lane, so the juxtaposition was
pretty amazing as was the fact that she died so young.
I do not know my summer
plans yet, but have to come East to CT for a family wedding in June, and
probably won’t come East twice. But, you never know……
Thank you on behalf of
all of us for your ongoing labor of love keeping track of everyone.
Peggy – February 2013
Bill: Thanks for checking in and keeping
up with all of us. Re your request for more news, I reviewed the
information that is already posted on your website re my life, family and
activities, and cannot believe anyone is interested in reading anything more
about me. I re-retired in January and have been busy catching up with
house, long neglected friends, and far-flung family. Attended 60th
Wellesley Reunion in June, visited with
Barbara Adams
and Barry Norris, and keep in touch with a few other MtL classmates
via email. Bob and I are both well; he still golfs daily – mostly
9 holes, and I have a thousand things on my “to do” list. Not sure how I
ever found time to “work.” Peggy - October 2012
January 2009:
I am
sorry to have missed the Reunion but visited
Mary Murrie
Hardy in October,
caught up on the Reunion activities and people, and was reminded of how
beautiful the PA countryside is in the Fall. Although I only attended the
10th, I am impressed with the dedication of those who plan and
conduct these Reunions. I keep up with some of you and enjoy reading about
everyone. In response to
Bill’s
plea for information, here is a revised version of the holiday letter to our
far-flung family.
Our Maine family of five
planned to join us over the holidays, but the winter storms cancelled their
flights twice, so no one made it. That was a big disappointment, but we
held the party for all their friends anyway. After shooting his age at 81,
Bob won low net in the Seniors’ Golf Tournament at his club this
year. He plays golf EVERY day – some days good, some just great exercise
and companionship. I retired in 2000, traveled, consulted and remodeled our
retirement house, then unretired in 2005 to return to lead the Urban
Education Partnership, an organization supporting reforms in L.A.’s urban
schools. We have raised over $80 million and designed and invested in many
effective and proven strategies and initiatives over 25 years, with more
promising innovations planned. However, as local and state financing gets
worse, it threatens some disastrous years ahead for educators and students
and makes our work more difficult.
Daughter Lise Paul
lives in Santa Monica and is job-hunting after taking a year off work for
health reasons – bad timing. Son Rob, also in L.A., has a production
team and investors assembled to produce a five-segment film for television.
Daughter Kristen Pierce is getting a Masters’ degree in Arts
Therapy, and her husband Kent is a writer and a member of the
Yarmouth, ME Board of Education.
Grandchildren Niko
and Greta Funkhouser live in Austria and are attending the University
of Innsbruck – one studying economics and one architecture. Nell
Pierce is working in Guatemala for a year then will attend Dartmouth in
the Fall, and Luke and Erica Pierce are in high school in
Maine. All five were born in Santa Monica but no one stayed in California.
All are wonderful … of course.
That was our life in 2008.

October 2005:
The first week of September the annual "DBC"
reunion was held at my home in Lake Barrington, IL, a suburb of Chicago. It
was five days of talking and eating. We spent two days in Chicago seeing
the sights including the new Millennium Park (which is great fun and like no
other park), the Architectural Boat Tour on the Chicago River (a must do)
and a night on the town. We told everyone that would listen who we were and
that we had graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1948. We hope "they"
were impressed!

Bob
- I went back to my source of information about Edie
Cross, and my friend (also an old friend of Edie's
from Sewickley) looked their name up in a very old Sewickley
directory that she had. They (the directory) spelled it as
you had it originally - MULLER so that's probably
right. My friend told me that a few years ago they moved away to
Indiana. Several of the Sewickley people who knew her have
sent Christmas cards etc. and have not received a reply.
That's all the scoop that I know.
Mary, July 2008
I have been able to
trace 1 from the Lost list, however, the address is 8 years old, and the
people who have sent letters and cards there, have not received replies,
so it's probably worthless, but here it is: Edith Cross -

Reunion:
Best I could do with the snapshot
Hey,
Carol,
Joe Miller is looking for you!
August, 2023.
Carol is still active - she replied to my
general email by saying, “I
am still here." Carol Davis Owens - August
2022. Oops, Carol's email bounced
October 11, 2022 when I tried to let her know
about the Zoom meeting. I'm going to leave
her in the "Active" list until 2023. I
hope she contacts us again.
Great news!! We heard
from Carol on July 22nd, 2008. She wants
to come to the reunion!
June 2008: Guys, I
just talked with Carol's step son
Thomas Owens in Clinton, NY. He said
Carol is alive and well, but his wife
maintains all the contact info with her and she
was not home. I sent him the email below and
he will get back to me with info about
her. Tom
thought she was still in the Wappingers Falls
area to be near her daughter . I'll let you know
when I hear back from him.
Tom
People
Search has her with addresses in Clinton, Inlet,
Utica, New Hartford, and Wappingers Falls, NY
plus Alexandria and Woodbridge, VA but no phone
book listing. Anyone know her
whereabouts? - May 2008
Nancy Rankin Linn writes: Carol Davis
Owens and I had a lovely lunch/
get-together in Syracuse in October, and had fun
sharing old photos and memories. We both live
in central New York, but this is the first time
to visit. - December 2006
October 2005,
Hi Bill, I have moved from my townhouse
to an apartment in the next town -- no more yard
work, house maintenance, etc. So far I'm
enjoying the change. My new phone for my new
address below is (315) 738-8968 (NG 2008).
Nancy Rankin Linn and I have been trying
to get together for about a year now, and I hope
we will make it sometime soon. I still have my
"camp" in the Adirondacks, and the weather this
summer was great! All of my children (3) spent
some time there. We are on a cove, and it's my
favorite place to swim. (I swim at the YWCA in
the winter -- not as scenic, but still good
exercise).
In July Debbie
Huber Monroe (class of '49) visited me. We
have been friends since I was five years old and
went to the same college (Wheaton in Mass.).
She has a grandson at Hamilton College and came
to visit him (and me) with another college
friend of mine. We had a super time here and at
camp. Not many people get up to the boonies, so
I did appreciate her visit.
I recently got a new "mini"car,
a Scion, and I love it. Toyota built it for the
20's crowd, but it's sold like hot cakes to all
kinds of people (including Grammys like me).
It's a hatchback, very roomy inside, and a real
gas saver (and we sure do need to save on gas
these days.) Got to the US Open tennis matches
for 4 days in Sept. (thanks to my sister-in-law)
and it was very exciting to see most of the top
players. I'm a real Roger Federer fan!
I still play in a doubles group during the
winter..
That's about it for
now, Carol
June 2005:
Just a note to tell you that I'm moving into an
apartment on July 8 in a nearby town. No more
yard work and house maintenance (still have a
summer cottage to keep up, though).
My new address is:
10 Blackburn Ct., New Hartford, NY 13413
I don't have my new
phone # yet. More later. Thanks for keeping us
up-to-date on our classmates Carol
March 2004: Hi
Bill, This is the first time I've been
able to get on our website and have enjoyed
catching up with some of my classmates! Do you
have any info about
Sylvia Lopez
(deceased) or
Art Mensing
(deceased))?
I visited with
Anne Philhower
(deceased) Fair last month in Bonita
Springs, FL, where she lives. We had a great
time together and have been friends since second
grade.
I live in a small
college town in upstate NY (really upstate!),
home of Hamilton College. I have three children
and one grandson (16). He and my daughter
Lynn went together to Prague and Budapest a
year ago. It was strenuous and fun! I've also
been to Kenya, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland,
Austria, London and the West Coast (one of the
most spectacular trips of all). As you may have
guessed neither of my late husbands liked to
travel, so when I had the opportunity....
My children and I also
have a small cabin (camp) in the Adirondacks,
which we love. I am an avid environmentalist,
enjoy gardening, tennis, swimming and hiking
(not up mountains).
I hope this will make
up for lost time. Carol

February 2005: Hi! I am well and still
working! I retired from my full, full time job as a
Paralegal for Brown & Connery on January 20th, 2006 after 31
years there, but they wanted to know if I could still work
some so I go in 2 days per week--been doing that for a year

the caseload warrants. It keeps the old brain working and
gets me out and about back with my great office crew for a
little while every week.
I hosted our DBC Reunion this year in New Jersey at my home and my

Ann Bowman,
Nancy Godden,
Jeanne Vayda

Ann Mosites,
Mary Murrie,
Mitzie Fantl, and me. Barbara
Adams got sick at the last minute and couldn't make it. We
had a great time--did some sightseeing to Winterthur and the Brandwine
Museum in Delaware and a day in Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell. the
Constitution Center, Christ Church, Lemon Hill Mansion, and lunch at the
Waterworks overlooking the river and Boathouse Row. It was a fun
time and so great to see everyone. We do this every year.
Stay well. It is great hearing about members in our class even though
it is sometimes so sad, but I guess we are at that age when sad news will
increase. Take care

Hi! I retired from my fulltime job as a paralegal for Brown & Connery
Law Firm on January 20th, 2006 after 30 years with the firm. I
continue to work for them part-time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so that gives

October 2005:
The first week of September the annual "DBC" reunion was held at my home in
Lake Barrington, IL, a suburb of Chicago. It was five days of talking and
eating. We spent two days in Chicago seeing the sights including the new
Millennium Park (which is great fun and like no other park), the
Architectural Boat Tour on the Chicago River (a must do) and a night on the
town. We told everyone that would listen who we were and that we had
graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1948. We hope "they" were

February 2003: Still working full, full time. I really don't
have any exciting activities to report. Most of my fun comes from
doing things with my family, two out of three live close by and that
includes my only grandchild
Brittany, age 13.
I was very involved with baby sitting until this past year when all of a
sudden she was all grown up and babysitting other little ones.
I look forward to the reunion every fall with the group of DBC's. We
have had 2 years at
Ann Mosites's home in West Palm Beach, and last year at
Mary Murrie's home in Savannah.
This fall it will be almost in my back at the Jersey Shore at
Jeanne Vaydas home. That should be home.
Unfortunately my job takes up the majority of my time. I have been a
Paralegal at this law firm for 28 years. I do love the work because
they let me do everything but appear in court, but it is a lot of
hours. One of these days I will retire as long as I have some
part-time job to go to. Hope you are well and I will look forward to
the "55th"!
