Harvey Thomas (Tom) Calvert

H Thomas Calvert
'52,
Hillsborough, N.C., June 4, 2010. He was the owner of H. T.
Calvert D/B/A. As an undergraduate, he was part
of the Alpha Kappa Psi and Phi Sigma Mu honor societies and was also
a brother of Theta Chi.
I’ve lived at Cape Fear, NC, for the last 12
/ 13 years and have done lots of traveling, first the US in a camper and now
abroad. Still have to get to Africa and Antarctica but been lots of other
places. Presently planning trip while I recover from a knee replacement.
Instead of "H. Thomas Calvert" just make it plain "Tom" -
no one any longer remembers what the "H" stood for - especially me.
(Editors note: It’s “Harvey”, Tom) – October 2005 |

Camarda
September 15, 2019
From the Spring, 2020 Alumni Bulletin:
Casper M.
Camarda,
Bethlehem, PA, Sept. 15, 2019. A Delta Sigma Phi brother, Mr.
Camarda served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He went on
to own and manage The Rabbit Hole, a clothing boutique in downtown
Bethlehem, and later worked as a commercial real estate broker.
He sang with
the Lehigh Choral Union, he was a past president of the Lehigh Wrestling
Club, was active in the Alumni Association and was a 64-year attendee of the
Lehigh-Lafayette football rivalry. For his dedication, he won the
Alumni Award in 2002. His daughter, Mary Beth (Camarda)
Young '75, and son-in-law, George Young '76, are members of
the Lehigh family.
From the Spring Alumni Bulletin, 2013:
Cas, his wife,
Lockie, sent a great card wishing me well and noting that they were
closing in on 60 years of marriage and that
Cas
was still gainfully employed in commercial real estate. While east, Daz
and I drove up to Vermont and became "leaf peepers," local term for those
viewing the gorgeous fall foliage. -
Pat Moran
(deceased)
From the Summer 2012 Alumni Bulletin:
Cas Camarda
sent along a great catch‑up email detailing his change of careers from
clothing manufacturer to senior vice president of Weichert Commercial
Brokerage.
Cas
and
Lockie
have been married 58 years and have four children, one Lehigh grad, eleven
grandchildren, and one great‑grandchild. Cas has long been active
with the Lehigh Wrestling Club as past president and now on the board of
directors. The
Camarda’s active life includes visiting their “clan" and taking cruises,
most recently to Venice and Turkey. Thanks,
Cas, for a great update.

- Lockie and I enjoyed being with the great members of the great
class of '52. A great highlight of the year was our attendance at the
inaugural. of Dr. Gast to Presidency of Lehigh. It was an exciting
and moving experience.
It was not too
long ago that we returned from a 2 week cruise of the Mediterranean. Great
trip. We enjoyed being with most of our 4 children and 11 grandchildren for
the holidays and are looking forward to the 4 graduations coming up in '08.
Drew Camarda
will grad from Stanford, Brett Camarda from Brown, Elizabeth Young
from W. Virginia, and Brooke Camarda from St. Pauls Prep in New
Hampshire. We are trying to figure out the logistics of all of that.
I still have an
office I still go to everyday (Commercial Realestate). Thank God! Makes my
life free of many empty hours. Great to see all the great members of the
great class of '52. Thanks for all your work in keeping us together.

James S Clark '52, Maris Grove, Pa., April 12, 2017. Mr. Clark
was a Theta Delta Chi brother who also belonged to the Mustard and Cheese
Society. He served in the U.S. Air Force in French Morocco. He spent 32
years with DuPont Co., working on everything from space age metals to
electronics. His son, Bruce Clark, is a member of the Class of 1983.
Hi all: It looks like 52’
Theta Delts will be scarce – or no attendees. One of my mates said, “What
do you expect? Theta Delt is gone from Lehigh.” Here’s the
results of my phone calls:
-
Robert Barrett lives in the Pittsburgh
area, a 75 mile drive. Further, he didn’t graduate from Lehigh. It was
U of Pittsburgh when his family moved there. He’s a slight “maybe”.
-
David Duys: His son answered,
and said that his father died two years. He thanked me for the talk we
had. (deceased)
-
Bob Mantell
(deceased): He said NO.
-
John McAlonan: He didn’t get any info
from Lehigh, so I described it briefly. He is a “maybe”, but not if no
other brothers are going. Also, He asked what the (fee)s are. If he
comes, he will play golf. Send me the fees, because I don’t have it
here.
-
Doug Pollitt: He liked the
50th, so I hope he will go. He hasn’t decided yet. Another “maybe”.
-
Bob Youry
(deceased): There was no phone
# on the page you gave me, so I got a correct number online. When I
called, It was disconnected.
-
Randy Zehner
(deceased): Randy has to
miss this one. He’s going to a grandson’s wedding in Indiana.
