Per Bill Skillman:  Faber, Robert G. 11/14/2017 Ann Arbor, Michigan, Robert G. Faber, 91 years old, of Ann Arbor, MI, passed away early Tuesday morning at his home.  Born March 16, 1926, the youngest of three children to parents Harry Faber and Bertha Weinberg Faber in Trenton, NJ.  His sister Florence Faber Vine and brother Norman "Bud" (both deceased) stayed near their parents in New Jersey while Bob went to Georgia with the Army and then Lehigh College after WWII.  He ventured to Ann Arbor in 1954 looking for an improved business climate and with big dreams for his wife, Ann Arbor native Eunice (nee Mintz, also deceased) and year-old son.  He immediately fell in love with his adopted city and rented space on Main Street for a fabrics and notions shop which he opened on October 4, 1954, the same day his second son was born.  Faber's Fabrics was soon renowned for the patient and friendly service Bob and Eunie and their sales staff afforded their customers.  The family grew and the business expanded; a daughter arrived in 1958 and Faber's relocated across Main Street to the Orpheum Theater building while operating satellite stores first in Ypsilanti, and, later, into the newest innovation in retail real estate: shopping malls.  Bob's dedication to service extended into local politics, he served two terms as Second Ward Democratic city councilman (1969-73) and ran, unsuccessfully, for Mayor in 1981.  As discount ready-made clothing largely replaced home-sewing, Bob abandoned the rag trade and leveraged his passion for adventure into a new business, Faber Travel, on Liberty Street.  After many years and some success, he retired to concentrate on writing thoughtful, often humorous essays about politics, playing golf, and aging gracefully. Some of them found their way into the Ann Arbor News as a semi-regular column.  He is survived by his children David Faber, Michael (Melissa) Faber, Suzanne (Richard Fizdale) Faber, his grandchildren, great-grandchild, and his loving friend and companion, Harriet Selin.  Have no other information concerning Robert since graduation - 69+ years - Updated May 2018.

Joseph Febo

Per Bill Skillman: Joseph Febo, Cherry Hill - On April 21, 2018, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.  Resided in Cherry Hill. Age 92.  Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Scullin).  Devoted step-father of Barbara Hensel, Cheryl Camardese, Virginia Glassman, David Warren and Stephen Warren. Predeceased by daughter Judith Febo.  Mr Febo was a retired stock broker employed by Merrill Lynch of Mt. Laurel.  Joseph was a proud veteran serving in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in action - Updated May 2018

Bart Filaseta

Haven't heard any more about Bart for 17 years.  Assumed Lost. - March 2021

From Chuck Huch (deceased), June 2004:  I see that one of the Class of 1952 members is listed as presumed deceased.  His name is Bart Filaseta who was graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1953.  A friend, who has known Bart for a long time, provided me with Bart's address:  6690 E. Largo Salici, Tuscon, AZ  85750

  He was an employee of Otis Elevator Co. and later worked for Syska and Hennessy Inc. as a consultant.  He received his B.S. and M.S. from Newark College in New Jersey.  He was chairman of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Elevator Regulations.  A lifelong Eagle Scout, he gave 50‑plus years of dedication to the Boy Scouts of America.  He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.  He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.  Survivors: Wife, Jean; three daughters; three sons; 12 grandchildren.

     Two obituaries Bill Skillman found dance around dates that fit our classmate however neither one is a close enough match I am willing to accept.  The only photo is a stretch for the guy I remember although it is the closest to his age.  Have no other information concerning Joseph since graduation - 69+ years so will keep the "Assumed Lost" notation.

     Per Bill Skillman:  David Garrison Fluharty - "Davis" in Epitome.  Father is "Davis".  "Dr. David" signed his Mom's death certificate in 1966, '83 has "Dr".  Ancestry.com:  "David III", b 2/25/1931, d 5/3/2015.  Have no other information concerning Davis since graduation - 69+ years - Updated May 2018.

Walter Foster

     It has been over 15 years since I've heard from Walter so I have reluctantly moved him to the "Lost" listings.  If anyone has an update on him I would appreciated hearing from you and will gladly move him back to the active list, if appropriate - Bill <><

Homer Frankhouser, Jr

Summer 2010 Bulletin:  On a slightly more upbeat note, Homer "Frank" Frankhouser, of Houston, Texas, was inducted into the Offshore Oil Hall of Fame.  Frank has a long history of offshore oil experience (North Sea and Irish Sea, and since 1992 has been president of his own company)
