Seems odd writing a news column in March that you guys will not see for several months but that is how the system works so here goes:  Arthur Bondy (deceased) thanked Pat Moran (deceased)  for keeping up the column over the years.  Art has been retired for 11 years and has lived in Middletown, CT, over 30 years.  He indicated his biggest achievement was in the Civil Rights movement for multiple years.

Bill Skillman wrote:  “Latest from here is that I turned 91 on Jan 22 and in December became engaged to Susie List, widow of a former co-worker at Westinghouse.  See my genealogy home page www.SkillmansofAmerica.com for a short blurb and picture.  I lost Anne, the love of my life, on March 19, 2017 after 68.5 years of marriage.”

Bob Hoyt continues his regular reporting by saying:  “ Bill, you will receive your reward for being the ’52 Class correspondent when you get to heaven.  I watched the Cornell-Lehigh wrestling match recently with my wrestling partner, Jack Platt ’53.  I’ve still got all of my original joints.  I was water skiing up until four years ago then my legs gave out  I still bike ride, albeit slowly.  Go to the gym 3X a week.  My wife has been gone for 15 years, but I am soldiering on living in a condo both here in Pennsylvania and in Nantucket.  In Nantucket I race in an 18’ sailboat.  Four of my six children live nearby, so I have lots of support.  I am proud that one of my 13 grandsons took Army ROTC and now is a 1st Lieutenant and flying generals around Washington DC .  His base is Ft Belvoir where I served before going to Korea.  One of my three granddaughters is married and has three boys, so I’m a great granddad.  My son-in-law, Bill McNabb, served as CEO of Vanguard for 10 years taking the company from 1 to 5 trillion dollars in client assets.”

I’m glad to hear that Bob is still able to ride and enjoy a bicycle that isn’t stationary.  I reminded him of his challenge in 2014 that I accepted but never heard back from him.  He denies it, but my challenge is still viable.  Hope to hear from others classmates for our next column.
