How Small

Scripture: Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV) – “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weakness, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin.  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Message:

How small the man, in his own mind
How short this journey on borrowed time
How great the task before us lay
Of petty deeds, from day to day
Our futures bright, our fortunes made
Our souls but blight by judgment swayed
For we have chosen, as all men must
What to love and Whom to trust
For choice is a gift from the Father above
But in darkness we drift on our chosen lust
And sink deeper yet into ourselves
Where loneliness lies, quiet and still
But one beacon shines to lift us up
Free our minds from what is corrupt
For we have a High Priest who passed through Heaven
Jesus the Christ whose blood has forgiven
Raised us with Him, made us Holy again

Prayer:  Thank You Lord for coming to earth to save us all from ourselves.  Amen.
