God So Loved The World

Scripture: 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV) - "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

Message: Just a few months ago we celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. The purpose of His birth was God's gift to all of us, His children. God sent His only Son down from His Heavenly ivory palaces to live as a man like us. Jesus' life was our example of how to live the love of God. He ministered to all and rejected none. After three years of ministry, Jesus took the sins of the world on Himself and sacrificed His life on a cross. That action shows unconditional love far beyond what we are expected to show. A sinless man, God's only Son, went to the cross for you and me and all our brothers and sisters, saving us from death and allowing us to live eternally with Him in heaven. How could we ever turn away from anyone in need of such love? Hallelujah, what a Savior!! A display of God's pure love!

Prayer: Father, melt our hearts with Your love. Keep us aware of the sacrifice of Your Son for all mankind. We love You and are humbled to be able to call You Father. In Jesus' name. Amen.

No Greater Love

Scriptures: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 14:12 (NIV) – “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

Message: Jesus came into this world for one purpose, and that was to be sacrificed on the cross as our redemption from sin. Referring to John 3:16, there is no greater love! Our mission is to pass on this love of God through example, and spread the words of Jesus' teachings to the world.

As Jesus says in John 14:12, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father."

Fortunately, after Jesus ascended to heaven, another gift was bestowed on mankind! The Holy Spirit was sent as our Comforter to indwell us, to keep the love of Jesus alive in our hearts, and to bring people into God's kingdom.

What greater works can we do, other than to be a witness of His great love and compassion to friends, co-workers, family members, and all we meet? This allows the Holy Spirit to draw them into the Body of Christ, one heart at a time.

"There is no greater love than this!"

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, convict us to want to carry Your Word to this generation in compassion and love. In Jesus' name. Amen.
